Steam at Cranmore

After a drive in fog on the M4, and through the lanes of Somerset I reached my destination Cranmore. The setting was perfect, cold and crisp after the early sun burnt off the fog.On a previous visit I planned the shot. The autumnal colours helped balance the scene.I waited patiently,I had wondered why there appeared to be a large number of children about. It was mid term holidays that was the reason so I thought. This line had David Sheperd paintings in the signal box and he owned some of the engines. The time came for the first train to leave, the atmosphere, the steam, the sound and out of the station came....Thomas!.I had to take the images it was a perfect picture. The Green Knight was dressed for the occasion, and the children enjoyed it also.
